Bases

1b

All the yarns I use are chosen for the quality and at the same time for its sustainability. There are many ways to be sustainable, your priority might be traceability, local sources, animal care, etc. Finding all this qualities in one yarn is very difficult in my country.

Traceability is not always easy with yarn, and were I live it often means buying from abroad. Most of my yarn bases come from sources with the best farming practices (no mulesing!). Merinos come from Argentina and Uruguay. The superwash treatment complies with the strict European regulations on wastewater.

Local spinning mills usually work only with big fashion businesses, and use a lot of synthetic fibers. I am constantly searching for yarns that fit in my philosophy, sometimes buying locally with less fiber traceability, and sometimes buying locally, with traceability but at a higher cost.

There are a few amazing initiatives working on this field in my country, and I hope to be able to work with them very soon!

MUSU

Musu is the basque word for kiss. And that’s what this yarn feels like.

Hairy, floofy, little kiss of heaven! You can use it alone for an extremely light masterpiece, or combine with any other to add softness and halo. This fiber is very warm but without adding almost any weight!

Skeins are 50 gr and 400 m, and are 72% kid mohair and 28% silk.

SOL

Sol is the word for sun. A fiber to enjoy the warm weather!

Unlike other silk yarns, this one is matt, which means it is for everyday comfortable wear. It has an amazing texture, looking rustic but with the feel of the silk. Knit it single, double or even triple and get the most out of it!

Skeins are 50 gr and 500 m, and are 100% bourette silk. This yarn is custom spun at a local mill.

KITTEN

Yes, soft as kittens!

This yarn base is amazingly versatile. You can knit from shawls to sweaters or any garment you can imagine. It is a pleasure to work with, and has an amazing drape.

Skeins are 100 gr and 400 m, and are 100% superwash merino wool from sustainable sources with good farming practices in Argentina and Uruguay.

ONDINE

Ondines are mythical water creatures. The shine of the silk makes me think of my childhood by the lake, fascinated with legends and literature.

This is the loveliest yarn you’ll ever find. Being single ply, its fiber content makes it hard wearing but at the same time has an amazing feel. Lightness, shine, softness… You will not want to stop knitting with it!

Skeins are 100 gr and 400 m, with 50% silk and 50% merino. This yarn is custom spun at a local mill.

SOCK

This is the best yarn to make ever lasting socks. I mean, really, the best!

Great for hard wearing garments, but many will find better to avoid contact with the skin as it is a little bit coarse compared with merino wool.

Skeins are 100 gr and 420 m, with 75% wool and 25% poliamyd to make it last forever. This yarn comes from a family owned mill in Germany.

RÊVERIE

Rêverie is the french word for dream. Knit it, wear it and you’ll understand why I chose this name.

This is the best yarn to beat the cold! Made with an extremely soft merino, this singles yarn is perfect to knit shawls, cowls, hats… everything!

Skeins are 100 gr and 220 m, and are 100% superwash merino wool from sustainable sources with good farming practices in Argentina and Uruguay.
